The anonymous data has been analysed by PhD students Grace Trundle of Nottingham University and Alex Griffin of Kings College London, to help increase understanding of PDA.

These questions show how likely people may be to be PDA, and how likely they are to be autistic.

The 50 PDA and 40 autism traits in this self-test are a refinement an earlier adult PDA test Riko Ryuki created in 2016. Some of those PDA traits had been gleaned from an informal PDA traits study carried out by Sally Cat in 2016 which compared the ranking of 155 potential distinct PDA traits between 90 non-PDA autistic, and 290 PDA adult respondents. Autism traits were selected by Riko Ryuki from an online autism self-assessment tool called the AspieQuiz.
